About Us

Come Explore Kauai's Reefs With Us!

Reef Guides Hawaii offers shore-based environmentally-friendly (no boat) reef tours on the Island of Kauai, in Hawaii. During the summer season, we depart from the Princeville Resort on the North Shore. In the winter, we assemble on the sunny South Shore at Koloa Landing.

Reef Guides Hawaii staff have dedicated their lives to protecting the complex and fragile reef ecosystems, and would like to share their experiences with you. If you don’t know where to look, you could miss Kauai's unique treasures. Reef Guides Hawaii can show you where to go, how to protect the reef—and how to keep it safe from human impacts.

It is the goal of our guides to expand your understanding of the ocean environment far beyond just looking at the fish, turtles, and the reef. All tours include a safety and reef etiquette briefing, and a snorkel lesson geared to your experience and ability.

Our instructors will explain Kauai's unique ocean environment, and help you understand what you're seeing—they will explain the fish’s quirky habits, their reef habitat, and how reef creatures feed and protect themselves. Our guides will give you an experience you can take with you on other snorkel adventures around the Islands. We maintain a ratio of no more than 6 guests for each instructor. Accommodations can be made for larger groups.
